A projector test chart, wherever you work
ProjectorTest is a free browser tool for setting up projectors, displays and video systems. Start a fullscreen geometry chart on a computer, or choose iPhone HDMI for a native 1920 × 1080 reference video. No account or app installation is needed.
What can I test?
Use grids, circles and corner markers for alignment and keystone checks. Focus, pixel, grayscale, color-bar and solid-field patterns help reveal blur, scaling, clipping and unevenness. Safe-area guides and aspect, throw, raster-fit and frame-delay calculators support setup planning.
How do I check true 16:9?
Select a 1920 × 1080 source, disable projector overscan and use an aspect-preserving mode. Show all four corners, check that the circle is round, then measure the border: height should equal width × 9 ÷ 16. Use Verify to record your physical checks.
Does a 1080p chart prove 1080p HDMI?
No. The source dimensions are exact, but your browser, operating system, adapter or projector may scale the picture. Confirm 1920 × 1080 progressive in the projector’s input-information menu. iPhone video routing varies by hardware; the HDMI troubleshooting lab helps compare playback paths.
Are the colors broadcast-certified?
Browser color bars and Rec.709 code calculations are reference tools, not measured signal certification. Color management, range conversion and display settings can alter the output. Use a signal analyzer or scopes when broadcast compliance matters.
Settings and verification notes stay on your device. Offline charts need the app shell to finish caching; iPhone video packs must be saved separately.
